Canadian Paper Industry Launches New National Association NationalNationAssociation

New National Association

.

We are under construction at the moment. Stay tuned!

The major players in the Canadian paper packaging industry have formed a new national organization, Paper Packaging Canada, to represent their diverse interests.

Members of the new association will include both the mills that produce paper and board for packaging grades and the converters who turn them into boxes, bags and cartons.

The move mirrors rationalization underway throughout the manufacturing sector and effectively means the memberships of two current industry associations have merged into one body at the same time as the links with the industry’s environmental council are strengthened.

The two associations merging are the Canadian Corrugated Case Association (representing the vast majority of Canadian corrugated board producers) and the Packaging Mills Association of Canada (representing the majority of Canadian packaging mills). The Paper and Paperboard Packaging Environmental Council (PPEC) will become the environmental arm of the new association.

John Mullinder, the current executive director of PPEC, has been appointed the new association’s president and chief executive officer.

Please bear with us in the transition process.
